Indian Chinese has its origin in Kolkata and Chinese is incomplete without serving of Manchurian. In this recipe we show you how to make Veg Dry Chinese Manchurian from scratch and it is very simple and easy. Manchurian is made from mixed vegetables, corn flour and maida and are deep fried till golden brown. Then it is sauteed in gravy made from Chinese sauces and green vegetables and thickened using corn flour. Though Manchurian are difficult to make, however, with this recipe you can easily make this delicious recipe at home. If you are making it just as a starter or going to eat with Fried rice this recipe is a sure shot try. To make gravy Manchurian just modify the water content in the gravy as explained in the recipe and you are good to go! Do make this for your next party or Chinese dinner at home!

INGREDIENTS:
For Making Manchurian Balls:
1/2 Cup Finely Chopped Mixed Vegetables (1 part cabbage, 1/2 part carrots and 1/2 part capsicum (bell pepper))
1 Tbsp Corn Flour
1 Tbsp All Purpose Flour (Maida)
1 Tsp Soya Sauce
1/8 Tsp Black Pepper Powder
Little salt
3 + 1/2 Tbsp Bread crumbs
Oil for frying
For making gravy:
1 Tbsp Oil in a Pan
1/4 Cup finely chopped Green Onions
1 Tbsp finely chopped Ginger, Garlic and Green Chillies
1/8 Cup Capsicum (Bell Pepper) cut long and small
1/8 Tsp Black Pepper Powder
Little salt
1/2 Tbsp Soya Sauce
1/2 Tsp Green Chilli Sauce
1 Tsp Tomato Ketchup
1/4 Cup Water (For making gravy Manchurian use 1/2 to 3/4 cup water)
Slurry of 1/2 Tsp corn flour mixed with 2 Tbsp water
1/2 Tsp Vinegar
SERVES: 2 people
PREPARATION TIME: 15 Min
COOKING TIME: 20 Min
TOTAL TIME: 35 Min
* 1 CUP = 237 ML
METHOD:
Making Manchurian Balls:
1. In a bowl take Finely Chopped Mixed Vegetables, Corn Flour, All Purpose Flour (Maida), Soya Sauce, Black Pepper Powder, salt and mix lightly with a spoon.
2. Add 1/2 Tbsp Bread crumbs (crushed in mixer grinder).
3. Mix well and if required add more Bread crumbs in parts of 1/2 Tbsp.
4. Now make round Manchurian Balls from the mixture using your palms and fingers. Apply very little pressure while rolling.
5. Now take 2-3 Tbsp Bread Crumbs in a plate and roll the Manchurian balls in the same.
6. Put the Manchurian balls in freezer for 10-15 min to set.
7. Heat oil for frying.
8. Put Manchurian balls one by one in oil and fry on low-medium flame till crispy and golden brown.
9. Take out on paper napkin.
Making gravy:
1. Heat Oil in a Pan.
2. Once oil is hot add finely chopped Green Onions, finely chopped Ginger, Garlic and Green Chillies and saute for 1 min on low-medium flame.
3. Now add Capsicum (Bell Pepper), Black Pepper Powder, salt, Soya Sauce, Green Chilli Sauce, Tomato Ketchup and mix well.
4. Add water and bring to boil.
5. Add prepared Manchurian balls and Corn flour slurry.
6. Cook for 1-2 min till gravy becomes thick.
7. Switch off flame and add Vinegar and mix well.
8. Dry Manchurian is ready to eat. Serve hot!
