Homemade Murmura Bhel Puri Mix is a delicious snack made from puffed rice mixed with different namkeen/savouries. It is a premix which you can use to eat directly or mix with green/imli chutney, chopped tomatoes/onions, sev & other items to make a delicious spicy, tangy & sweet bhel puri as available on street/shops. Bhel puri is consumed all across Indian in different ways & it also has different names. It is generally consumed as street food snack or made at home. Do try this recipe today.
INGREDIENTS:
3 tbsp oil1/3 cup unsalted peanuts/sing
1/2 tsp salt or to taste
1/4 tsp turmeric powder/haldi
1/2 tsp red chilli/lal mirchi powder
5 cups puffed rice/mamra/murmura
1 cup besan papdi or broken bhel puri papdi
1/3 cup boondi
1 cup mora/mota gathiya
1/3 cup chana dal namkeen
1 cup moti/jadi/thick sev
SERVES: Makes 376g Bhel Mix
PREPARATION TIME: 5 Mins
COOKING TIME: 5 Mins
TOTAL TIME: 10 Mins
* 1 CUP = 237 ML
METHOD:
1. Heat oil in a kadai.2. Add unsalted peanuts. Stirring intermittently roast till golden brown. Take it out in a bowl.
3. Switch off flame & add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli & mix.
4. Switch on flame on low & puffed rice & mix.
5. Cook puffed ricefor 3-4 min on low flame till crispy. Switch off flame.
6. Take out puffed ricein a bowl & allow it cool completely.
7. Add roasted peanuts, besan papdi, boondi, mota gathiya, chana dal namkeen & thick sev. Mix well.
8. Mamra/Murmura bhel mix is ready.
9. Store mamra/murmura bhel mix in an air tight container for 1 month.
