Mixed Fruit Jam - Homemade Fresh Fruit Jam Recipe - मिक्स फ्रूट जाम रेसिपी - Priya R - Magic of Indian Rasoi
Mixed Fruit Jam is a delicious homemade preserve using fresh fruits mixed together & cooked along with sugar & water. They are excelled bread spread & can even be spread on other items like roti, paratha, thepla, etc. Kids will just love it. And because it is homemade & made from choicest best fruits you can be sure it is pure & best. This recipe is quite easy to make & it is definitely must try.

INGREDIENTS:

For Making Fruits Pulp:

500g Papaya
2 chikoo (sapota/sapodilla)
1 orange (seeds removed)
2 bananas
1 apple (unpeeled)
1/4 cup water


For Making Mixed Fruit Jam:

250ml fruit pulp
250g sugar
1/4 tsp citric acid (nimbu ke phool)
1 tsp mix fruit essence
1/8 tsp of raspberry red food colour

SERVES: 305g Mixed Fruit Jam
PREPARATION TIME: 10 Mins
COOKING TIME: 10 Mins
TOTAL TIME: 20 Mins
* 1 CUP = 240 ML

METHOD:

For Making Fruits Pulp:

1. In a pan, add papaya,chikoo, orange, bananas, apple & water. 
2. Mix once. And then cover it & cook on low flame for 10 min.
3. After 10 min check fruits. If you press with a spatula it should get easily mashed.
4. Mash the fruits with pav bhaji masher.
5. Allow fruits to cook without lid for 2-3 min so that excess moisture gets evaporated.
6. Switch off flame & allow fruits to cool down for 10-15 min. 
7. Now blend the fruits using a blender.
8. Keep a strainer on a big bowl.Strain the fruit pulp.
9. Measure the fruit pulp in a measuring cup or bowl.

For Making Mixed Fruit Jam: 

1. Transfer pulp to measuring cup & whatever marking will come we will use same quantity of sugar.
2. Now in a clean kadai take the pulp & sugar. Mix well & start flame on low.
3. Add citric acid (nimbu ke phool) & mix fruit essence. 
4. Mix well & cook this mixture for 3-4 min on low flame till little thick.
5. To check consistency jam should fall in drops slowly from spatula. It should not fall together.
6. Switch off the flame. Add about raspberry red food colour & mix well.
7. Place jar in a bowl & add some water in the bowl so that jam cools down faster.
8. Transfer mixed fruit jam in jar & allow it cool down for 2-3 hours & then it will be ready to eat.
9. Homemade & fresh mixed fruit jam made with real fruits is ready! 


Tips:

1. For making fruit pulp, you can take your choice of fruits like guava, strawberries, sweet lime, grapes etc. 
2. If you wish you blend the cooked fruits in mixer grinder too.
3. Sugar quantity depends on the quantity of fruit pulp. Transfer pulp to measuring cup & whatever marking will come, use same quantity of sugar.
4. Citric acid (nimbu ke phool) will act as a preservative & avoid crystallization of sugar.
5. You can avoid using food color. It makes the jam look like one available in stores!
6. You can store mixed fruit jam in refrigerator for 2 months & it can stay at room temperature for 1 week.
