Fresh rose petals syrup is a homemade syrup from mixture of Indian rose petals & sugar syrup. It is free from preservatives & can be stored in refrigerator for 1 month. Rose milk is cooling & has many health benefits. Made at home this syrup is easy to make & is very pocket friendly. After making this syrup at home you will never need to buy a syrup from market! INGREDIENTS:
Rose petals syrup:
Petals from 10 Indian rose (approx 1 cup rose petals)
3/4 cup + 2 tbsp water
1 cup sugar
Pinch citric acid
1/2 tsp rose essence
1 tsp rose pink food colour
Rose milk with watermelon:
300ml chilled milk
4 tsp or to taste rose syrup
2 tbsp water melon cut in to small pieces
SERVES: Makes 250ml rose petals syrup / 2 glass rose milk with watermelon
PREPARATION TIME: 10 Min
COOKING TIME: 8 Min
TOTAL TIME: 18 Min
* 1 CUP = 237 ML
METHOD:
Rose petals syrup:
1. Wash & clean rose petals.
2. Using 2 tbsp water grind rose petals to paste. Keep aside.
3. Take sugar in a pan.
4. Add 3/4 cup water & allow it come to boil on high flame.
5. Once it starts to boil & sugar is dissolved reduce flame to medium & cook for 3-4 min.
6. Switch off flame after 3-4 min.
7. Add citric acid, rose petals paste & mix well.
8. Allow mixture to cool down for 2-3 hours.
9. Strain the mixture & discard any rose petals residue.
10. Add rose essence & rose pink food colour. Mix well.
11. Rose syrup is ready!
12. Fill syrup in a sterile bottle or jar & store it in fridge for 1 month.
Rose milk with watermelon:
1. Add rose syrup to milk & mix.
2. Pour 1 tbsp cut watermelon per glass.
3. Pour prepared rose milk over it.
4. Rose water melon milk is ready!
TIPS:
1. Here I have taken 10 Indian rose & removed its petals & washed it clean. For this syrup use Indian rose only & not English rose available in India.
2. There is no need to check any string consistency while cooking syrup - we just need little sticky syrup.
