INGREDIENTS:
Variyali Mishri Mixture:
1/4 cup sauf/variyali1/2 cup mishri/rock sugar (Alternatively use sugar)
For making 2 glasses of Sharbat:
3 tbsp of variyali mishri mixture8-10 mint leaves
1/4 tsp black salt/kala namak
1/8 tsp black pepper powder
Juice of 1 lemon
2 cups chilled water
Ice cubes for serving
SERVES: Makes 150g variyali mishri mixture
PREPARATION TIME: 5 Min
TOTAL TIME: 5 Min
* 1 CUP = 237 ML
METHOD:
Variyali Mishri Mixture:
1. In a mixer grinder grind sauf/variyali & mishri/rock sugar to fine powder.
2. Check once & if required grind again.
3. You can store this mixture in air tight container & use whenever you want to make sharbat.
Making 2 glasses of Sharbat:
1. Take 3 tbsp of variyali mishri mixture in a blending jar.
2. Add mint leaves, black salt/kala namak, black pepper powder, lemon juice, & chilled water.
3. Use a blender to mix everything.
4. Refrigerate for 3 hours so that flavours of sauf gets absorbed in water.
5. Mix sharbat & strain.
6. Pour ice cubes in glass & pour variyali sharbat.
7. Summer special variyali sharbat is ready!
TIPS:
1. In place of rock sugar, you can use sugar, however, traditionally this sharbat is made from mishri.
2. You can use sharbat without straining if preferred.
