INGREDIENTS:
1 cup bajra/millets flour
½ cup whole wheat flour
½ cup chopped fenugreek leaves
1 tsp salt or to taste
½ tsp carom seeds
¼ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp green chillies & ginger paste
2 tsp oil + for frying
⅓-½ cup water (approx)
Dry wheat flour for dusting
SERVES: Makes 14-15 medium size puris
PREPARATION TIME:10 min
COOKING TIME: 10 min
TOTAL TIME:20 min
* 1 CUP = 240 ML
METHOD:
- In a bowl mix, bajra flour, whole wheat flour, fenugreek leaves, salt, carom seeds, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, green chillies & ginger paste and 2 tsp oil.
- Using water knead medium stiff dough.
- Cover it & allow it to rest for 10-15 min.
- Make 14-15 balls from this dough.
- Roll it into medium size pooris approx ¼ inch thickness using rolling pin and dry flour for dusting.
- Heat oil for frying.
- Fry on high flame till golden on both sides (approx 20-30 seconds) & then remove on paper napkin.
- Fry all the puris in the same way.
- Bajra Methi Poori is ready to serve!
- Serve it with dal or your favorite sabji or give it to kids in lunch box!
